It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that longtime Center Middle School teacher, Mr. Bill Langholz, passed away last night after battling cancer. Mr. Langholz was a teacher for the past 36 years, 25 of that in the Center School District.
Bill was a quiet man, but one whose impact has been felt by staff, students, parents, and community members far and wide. The Center Middle School staff organized a recognition event for Bill last Wednesday that was held at the KC Hospice House, where he spent his final days. The stories that were told had a common theme - Bill was a man who changed the world; one colleague, one student, one parent at a time. He was a source of inspiration and encouragement, especially for young teachers who struggled to learn the wonderful, but incredibly difficult, art and science of teaching. He helped students see and understand their world in new and exciting ways, especially with his regular spring break trips to New York City that opened the world for his fellow travelers.
Bill will be sorely missed, but his memory and impact will live on through the people he touched.
