Center Schools will celebrate “Missouri Read In Day” on Friday, March 10th. We will have guest readers sign up to read to classrooms. A partnership, led by Michelle Kruse and including the Center Education Foundation, Harvesters, LINC, and the Center School District, provides a monthly food pickup for members of our community. Statistics for calendar year 2022 - 1,908 families served (over 7,300 individuals), 118,119 pounds of food distributed, and 98,432 meals created.
Sometimes weather, late deliveries, and other factors made it hard to pull off, but thanks to the efforts of a bunch of dedicated Yellowjackets, it means the world to families in our community.
We are Center Yellowjackets and we do hard things - together!
Congrats to the Center High School Skilled Trades Program receiving an Education Impact Award from the South KC Chamber of Commerce.
Congratulations to David Moore and Jarusha Geringer at Center Academy for Success. Won a $10,000 grant from Be Great Together for equipment to engage student learning!

Thanks to students at Center Academy for Success and their art teacher, Lynn St. Thomas, for creating an art display at The Borough, a neighborhood food hall at 8026 Paseo Blvd. Art will be on display through February.

Center High School Senior, Joe Vick, was interviewed today by KSHB about the impact of two Black starting quarterbacks in the Super Bowl. Joe, has been the Yellowjackets starting QB for the past two years. Interview will be part of the KSHB pregame coverage on Sunday morning.

We are so excited about the Kansas City Chiefs heading to the Super Bowl on Sunday! We wanted to let everyone know that Center Schools will be OPEN on Monday, February 13, following the Super Bowl, win or lose.
If the Kansas City Chiefs win the Super Bowl (as we hope they do), the Chiefs Kingdom Champions Parade will occur on Wednesday, February 15th (weather permitting). CENTER SCHOOLS WILL BE CLOSED on the day of the Chiefs Kingdom Champions Parade so that students and staff can attend the parade and celebrate.
