Our community partner, Children's Mercy Hospital, will be conducting FREE athletic physicals here at Center High School on July 11th. At this time, this event is only for our high school scholars. This is NOT a walk-up/walk-in event. All scholars MUST sign-up in advance in order to see a doctor and receive a FREE physical. Slots for physicals are limited so please don't delay, get signed up today! Below is some important information regarding athletic physicals event. When: Monday, July 11th, Time: 1-4pm Where: Center High School (Aux Gym) Enter on east side of school, doors across from the grass soccer fields. Appointments are required. No walk-ins will be accepted day of. Arrive at the appointment time signed up for. Have all documentation and signatures completed. Have PRIVIT account up-to-date prior to appointment. Attached is a pre-participation/physical form, if needed. Following appointment, upload completed physical to PRIVIT. The free program will offer breakfast and lunch at two different locations, Boone Elementary and Center High School. Juneteenth became an observed federal holiday June 17, 2021 in the United States. The federal holiday commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. During the April Board of Education meeting, the Board approved the Superintendent’s recommendation to include Juneteenth in federal holidays observed by the Center School District. This year will be the first year the district recognizes the holiday, and this observance will continue to be included in future district calendars. The holiday falls on Monday, June 20, 2022, therefore, Center’s schools and offices will be closed in observance of the federal holiday. Summer school will not be offered on Monday June 20, 2022.

Starting Monday June 6, The Center School District Administrative Office is operating under summer hours. Phones will be answered during working hours 8:00 – 4:30 Monday- Thursday. Feel free to leave a message at (816) 349-3000 if calling outside of the posted work hours and someone will respond to your call upon return to assist. With vacations and scheduled time off, please allow for a few days to receive answers or responses. We will have administrators working on Fridays for urgent and or immediate matters. Thank you for your understanding.

Billee Potts who helps students at Indian Creek Elementary enhance behavior and social emotional skills earned May’s Employee of the Month for her focus on Lifetime Community and Family Centric Relationships. Each month CSD employees nominate peers who exemplify one of the CSD core values. The Core Values include: • High Expectations for Student Success • Safe and Respectful Schools • Lifetime Community and Family Centric Relationships • Highly Qualified, Diverse Staff • Diversity in Our Schools and Community The Hive Society, a staff collaboration, designed to promote a positive and vibrant work environment for CSD staff, recognizes a monthly District winner during the school year. “Ms. Potts received several nominations this month. Here is what her colleagues had to say about her: Ms. Potts is a fixture of the Center district in so many ways, it would be hard to conceive of it without her. Her community connections, her care for the scholars at Indian Creek (and beyond), her work to lead the Cheer team for the high school and the time she’s spent to build a family with the staff around her are all great reasons for her nomination. Yellowjacket Early Learning Center is currently enrolling for the 2022-2023 school year. Enrollment options include: Head Start, Parent Pay, District Funded, Early Childhood Special Education. Read the attached Image to learn more. #CSD

Online Residency (OLR) will open on July 1, 2022, for PreK-12 Center School District students. For returning families, the entire online residency process can be completed from home through your parent portal and completing the entire OLR process by August 19, 2022 guarantees that your child will be able to start on the first day of school. Applications may take up to 48 hours to be approved. The link to Parent Portal is https://mocloud1.infinitecampus.org/campus/portal/center.jsp. If you are having trouble accessing your parent portal account, you may email portal@center.k12.mo.us. Families new to the Center School District community will have to complete some steps in person. We have included ways to share documents for our residency team electronically. For new families to the district, transcripts and audits must occur prior to starting school. For returning families, completing the entire OLR process on August 19, 2022, guarantees that your child will be able to start on the first day of school. Applications may take up to 48 hours to be approved. More information can be found on our website, including forms and instructions in Spanish.
