The Center School District Board of Education is an elected group of seven individuals who volunteer their services to the school district. Board members balance careers and family with the demand of overseeing the Center School District. In general, the Board has three major responsibilities: 1) Developing the annual budget proposed by the superintendent and ensuring funding supports district goals: 2) The Board develops and approves policies to help promote educational opportunities for the students in the district: 3) The only employee the board supervises and evaluates is the Superintendent. The day-to-day school operations are delegated to the superintendent. In addition to the three major responsibilities, Board members interact with the community at-large and assure school district performance.
Board meetings are held at Indian Creek Elementary School on the fourth Monday of each month. The Board celebrates district achievements, reads announcements of upcoming district events, approves policies and hears a variety of reports as well as votes on recommendations from the superintendent.
The Center School Board plays a critical role in the district educational system and works closely with the superintendent to ensure that every student receives a quality education that prepares them for success. By prioritizing the needs of our students and community the Center Board of Education makes informed decisions that will create a better future for the students of our district.
