Mrs. Kassie Redmond is serving in her first year as the lead principal of Center Academy for Success. Her career in Education began over 16 years ago and is built on a strong foundation. In 2008, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in special education from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Her passion for special education began during her college days at Mizzou where she began investing time in the Special Olympics community, coaching various sports. During this time, she also began her work in Applied Behavioral Analysis working 1-on-1 with students with Autism in their homes. She continued her education and work in the classroom by earning a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. After a few years of being in the classroom and serving as a special education teacher, she was led to go back to school and earned a Educational Specialist degree with a focus in the area of reading from the University of Missouri-Columbia. After several more years of teaching within the special education and regular education classrooms (also as an English teacher), she took on various leadership roles and continued learning and leading in the classroom.
After a decade in the classroom, Mrs. Redmond took on the role of an Instructional Coach leading at the building and district levels in one of the largest school districts in the state of Missouri. During this time, she was inspired to continue to lead and earned her Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership K-12 from Arkansas State University.
